Ministry of Sports is an important branch of the Government of India.  The Minister of which is Mr. Kiren Rijiju.  Kiren Rijiju is also the Minister of Minority Affairs with the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs.  As a Minister of State, the Ministry of Sports works for the development of sports played within the country and abroad.

Establishment of Ministry of Sports India

Young Case and Sports Ministry was founded in Delhi in 1982 by the name of the game department. At the same time the Asian Games organization was also established. During the celebration of the International Youth Year, 1985, its name was changed to the youth affairs and sports department. Then this department was made the Ministry on May 27, 2000. After this, this ministry was divided into two departments. In 2008, the specific topics dealt with these two departments were contained in the order of the government.

  The Sports Department is a division of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports under the Government of India formed on 30 April 2008.

  8. Promotion of Scouting and Guiding: The National Headquarters of Bharat Scouts and Guides (BSG), Hindustan Scouts and Guides (HSG) and Scout Guide Organization (SGO) have been recognized as the apex body in the field of scouting by the Government of India.  .  And guiding in India.
