Kiren Rijiju was born on 19 November 1971 in Nakhu Post Nafra, a village in west kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh. Her father's name is Rinchin kharu and mother's name is Chirai Rijiju. They do not have any siblings. Kiren Rijiju's wife's name is Joram Reena Rijiju. His son's name is Sancho Rijiju and his daughter's name is Nathey Rijiju and Jajey Rijiju.
Kiren Rijiju's father was the provisional Speaker of the First Assembly of Arunachal Pradesh. Kiren Rijiju is a Buddhist. Kiran Rijiju did her schooling in Arunachal Pradesh. He then moved to Delhi. He took admission in BA (Hons) at Hansraj College, Delhi. After this, he studied law from Delhi University.
Kiran Rijiju belonged to a political family. Therefore, he had entered politics during his student life. He was active in social service during his school days. Rijiju participated in many movements. He went to participate in the Bharat Utsav in the then Soviet Union in 1987 as a member of the youth and cultural team.

In 2004, he was given a Lok Sabha ticket from Arunachal West and became a Member of Parliament for the first time. He won the hearts of big leaders with his attendance and functioning in Parliament. He was made a member of several committees. He lost the election in 2009, but in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Kiran once again won and became an MP. Kiran Rijiju has also raised a strong voice against discrimination against the people of North East in Delhi NCR. After joining the government in 2014, he formed the Bezbarua Committee to give suggestions on problems related to the people of North East.
